Call the Pharmacist

An NHS Award winning pharmacist, Elizabeth Roddick, is the writer of the #1 Amazon best seller ‘Call The Pharmacist’.

The book is a very personal account of her life in and out of her community ‘New Life Pharmacy’ that she owns and manages. Starting with her father’s struggle as a chemist in 1938, she details the rich, humorous and sometimes poignant stories of the interaction with her patients and customers. The development of pharmacy services over the 30-year period is illustrated on top of demonstrating her holistic approach to health within her pharmacy and in the public speaking arena.

She is a weekly contributor to RNIB Connect Radio, where she broadcasts her ‘Call the Pharmacist’ slot. She can also be heard on BBC Radio Scotland’s Call Kaye programme answering questions on health topics. Occasionally, Elizabeth can be heard speaking about the holistic side of health and well as GP educational topics at venues such as the London Expo Centre, the Edinburgh Fringe, the Edinburgh Science Festival and community events.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) having been the Chair of the Scottish Executive of the RPS and has held various positions in pharmacy professional bodies throughout her career.

Quality of Life for Women Over 50

A quality life means different things to different women but the concept of quality over quantity is, I think, universally agreed. This book provides lots of information regarding the ageing process but, more importantly, how to address the issues that ultimately come along when women reach the age of 50 and beyond.

The ER Quality Life System provides some answers and positive outcomes for you where happiness and fulfillment are your goals.

The Other Frontline

Ever wondered what goes on behind the dispensary bench in a pharmacy?

The coronavirus propelled community pharmacy into the limelight and as a result of their accessibility meant patients sought help from the pharmacy first...

Being enormously busy put a strain on the whole team but their professionalism shone through.

This COVID diary demonstrates the breadth of services available from pharmacies and the passion for service of the pharmacist and staff.

Reviews

“It was an excellent read. Very interesting and a real eye opener on the work of the pharmacy”
– P.M Motherwell.
Loved reading Elizabeth’s Covid Diary. What a great idea to write all those experiences. I can tell she has been unbelievably busy.I loved the way of telling the ins & outs of the pharmacy, the community, the stories of real people and the interaction with them. She is more that a pharmacist. She is a counsellor, a friend, a delivery driver, a TV personality and the list goes on...Loved the humour too. So glad she wrote these situations down daily or otherwise they would be hard to recall all of them. Super job!
